Fruits and veggies
Seasonal vegetables are the bread and butter of Chandler Family Farm. We grow a diverse selection from sweet corn to lacinato kale to tomatoes and so much more. Ninety percent of our crops are hand planted and all hand harvested. Everything is grown in the rich soil we have here. We also amend and rotate crops as we can to build healthier soils an lessen the insect pressure. We do utilize tractors for cultivation, tillage and planting of the cow peas and sweet corn. I describe our farm as a hybrid between old school and new. The old being single row planting but with some new practices such as organic pesticides if/and only when absolutely needed.
Flowers
Who doesn’t love flowers!! We are big flower lovers here. Growing cut flowers is something we are currently working on. Its another big learning curve: they are different than the vegetables for timing, staking and harvesting periods. But man, we love them and the challenge. Each year, my goal is to expand the flowers we grow and offer more to our customers. Follow our journey with cut flowers
